As Komen Knoxville begins its new fiscal year, a number of exciting announcements are in order.
First, I will be retiring as Executive Director, effective June 30. My “bucket list” is overflowing and it’s time to tackle it!
Second, it is with great pleasure that I announce the promotion of Amy Dunaway to Executive Director. Amy began her association with Komen Knoxville as a Race volunteer and member of the Board of Directors in 2002. She joined the Affiliate staff as Director of Marketing and Fundraising on April 1, 2009 and has served on several Affiliate/Headquarters advisory committees related to fundraising and software solutions. Amy is a graduate of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a Bachelor of
Science in Marketing and a Master of Science in Elementary Education.
And finally, Julie Schulze, our current Affiliate Coordinator, will succeed Amy as Director of Marketing and Fundraising. Julie owned her own business and served as Volunteer Chair at the Kansas City Race for the Cure prior to moving to Knoxville in 2011. She joined the Knoxville staff in May, 2011 and holds a BA in Communications from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
I want to thank all of the wonderful Board members, sponsors, volunteers and staff who have supported me over the past nine plus years. Susan G. Komen Knoxville is one of the most respected Affiliates in the network and I am proud to have had the opportunity to serve as its Executive Director.
