BigWig Fun Fact: I actually have a Super Bowl ring! I was lucky enough to be on the Indianapolis Colts Cheerleading team in 2006-2007 season when the Colts won the Super Bowl! It was an incredible experience! These days I prefer sitting in the stands with my husband, Matthew, as opposed to dancing on the sidelines. We are busy watching our children play sports! Gracie, 14, plays volleyball for Elizabethton High School and our boys, Coleman, 7, and Collin, 5, play baseball, basketball, and soccer. I am loving this phase of life!
Fundraising Goal: $2,000
Why are you participating?
I consider being chosen as a BigWig an honor. Breast Cancer awareness has always been an important cause to me because so many women whom I love dearly have been affected by it. My mother, Robin Hollowell, had a full mastectomy when I was 5 as a preventative measure when precancerous cells were discovered. My mother-in-law, Debbie Clemson, is a breast cancer survivor as well. These two women mean so much to me and their strength is inspiring! A family friend of ours, Rebekah Bowen, just rang the bell to signal the end to her chemo treatment and she’s only 29. I think there’s a misconception about the specific age of those affected by breast cancer and the more awareness we have, the more lives can be saved. I consider raising money in honor of these strong survivors a true privilege!
